Redesigned E-Verify Employer Web Interface Launched by USCIS

In order to provide the employers using the E-verify Program with a more organized access, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has released a completely reconstructed web interface after a year’s overhaul.

Alejandro Mayorkas, the Director of USCIS is of the opinion that the redesign is one of the continuing efforts done to enhance the E-Verify program. He added that the E-Verify system redesign adds a new section for customer support apart from facilitating the employers to have an organized access to the program. He also mentioned that the USCIS.gov redesign that was redesigned in September, 2009 and the current E-Verify system redesign are at par, which only confirms the efficiency and transparency of USCIS services.

In view of keeping the employers using the E-Verify Program at ease, more than 200 pages have been re-engineered. To improve ease-of-use, cut down on errors, and to verify the employers participating in E-Verify Program against commercial data, the navigation tools have also been improved.

The redesigned E-Verify web interface also incorporates a new home page with a new “case alerts” feature, augmented case management and simplified tutorials in addition to the other enhancements. The new interface masks Social Security numbers as a measure to ensure that only legal companies participate in the E-Verify Program thus minimizing fraudulent practices.

The redesigned E-Verify web interface demonstrates E-Verify’s commitment to efficiency, security, accuracy, and customer service. The redesign also emphasizes USCIS’s focus on customers and its intent to gain public’s trust on the program.

The E-Verify web interface requires all current users to complete the updated tutorial, which takes around 20 minutes, after which the tutorial guides the user through the redesigned E-Verify web interface.

The E-Verify Program is operated by USCIS in collaboration with Social Security Administration. This web-based program enables the user to verify the employment eligibility of the newly hired employees.
